I enjoyed a lot when I went with my sister in law Fatma Mubarak to Dubai Hospital. She is a doctor and she was working while I was taking pictures. I learned how to listen to patients and be patient with them. Most of them have scrupulosity that they are ill. However, every doctor must treat patients and give them medicine if needed. I learned that, I should see every patients file to know if they have any allergies or hereditary disease before giving them any medicine.
Sometimes, thy have an emergency situation and need to have a surgery if they are sufficient with. Otherwise, they send the patient with ambulance to Rashid Hospital. I saw a very sensitive situation, I was very impressed when I saw a child is unable to move and the blood was covering hem. In this situation, Dubai Hospital transfers the patient to Rashid Hospital which is more efficient in this case.
Currently, she holds Bachelor Degree in MBBS (General Medicine & General Surgery) and she are working as a family medicine resident in DHA (Dubai Health Authority). She is a specializing in Family Medicine that is equivalent to the PHD degree and its 4 years based program. So, in 2016 she is going to sit for MRCGP exam which is equivalent to master degree.
After a short breakfast she goes to the clinic. The patients are already there and she sees each in turn and prescribes medicines. This round of duty continues right up to mid-day or even later.
They have 1 day in a week which is academic day. It's a day where all the doctors gathers and discuss new updates about diseases or treatment or ways of counseling. In order, that day is to improve their daily knowledge and clinical practice.
Rooms are available for patient and in need of care and under observation. The doctor treats patients and records everything that important.
All doctors must check the schedule and timings of work when they are changing the shifts. However, they are discussing about the patients cases’. So, they should read the file to know what their case is and what they need and treat.
This Room is on-call room which all doctors are sharing this room during they are on call. On-call means extra hour’s duty that is compulsory and they don't get paid for it as its part of a doctor job.
These
tools are suture kit which doctors are using it for suturing the cuts
regardless minor or even in operation theaters the classic and old method is by
suturing. In new practice surgeons are moving towards staples as the new
development in the medicine is rising.
This
is called tendon hummer. Doctors are using it in their clinical examination as
it helps them in detecting any neurological symptoms.
Sometimes, they have a quizzes so they should read and know the important things that need to be reviewed. She like to read a lot of information about new diseases and how to treat. She is very interesting and excited to work and learn what is new.
In Break, she is going
to any nearest restaurant out of the hospital to change her mood with her colleagues.
But, if she has lot of work to do and in hurry, she goes to a coffee shop which
is in hospital.
After she has disposed of all the patients, she goes home. She take rests for a while even at this time she is not quite relaxed. The telephone rings again and again. She replies to the queries of her patients with perfect calm and a sense of humor.
However, she is blessed to have a supportive and wonderful husband with her three little angles her children. Not everything is work, she spend her time with her family also.
Dr. Fatma have 2 daughters and 1 son. Her oldest daughter is Aljoori and she want to be a Doctor like her mother. Every time, she is wearing a white coat and stethoscope.
